Flower Wand Garden: grow flowers in the air with your fingertip

About Flower Wand Garden

Flower Wand Garden is a playful browser toy that uses your camera to track your hand. Point your index finger, hold it still for a moment, and a flower grows at your fingertip; move it and you leave a trail of flowers or twinkling stars. You can capture photos or 15-second videos to share.

There are several ways to play. Whack-a-Mole has flower-wearing moles popping out of garden beds for you to bonk with a fingertip. Be the Conductor lets your hand shape the tempo and dynamics of an orchestra, and the site points out you cannot fail at it. A daily Country Draw challenge shows a country's outline to trace in the air in 13 seconds, scores you against the real shape and puts you on a daily leaderboard. There is also Air Reader, which lets you read a pasted article hands-free, scrolling with your palm and zooming with two fists.

Up to four hands can play at once, there are live filters, and a face mask option hides faces in what you capture. Hand tracking runs on your device and the camera feed does not leave it. There is no sign-in to play and it is free.

It is a light, fun thing for kids, parties or a few minutes of play rather than a tool with a serious job, and that is the point of it.
