Doc Translator works on the file rather than the words in it. The usual problem with machine translation is not the translation, it is that you get back a wall of text and have to rebuild the document yourself, matching columns, resizing tables, re-placing images. This returns something you can forward rather than something you have to reassemble.

Format coverage is where it earns its place. PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and CSV cover the obvious cases, but it also handles EPUB, Markdown and plain text, structured formats including JSON, XML and YAML, image files in JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF, and subtitle files in SRT and VTT. The structured-format support is unusual and makes it useful for localising config files and app strings, not just documents. Source language is detected automatically across more than 150 targets.

You can translate a file without creating an account, which matters because it lets you test the layout preservation on something real before deciding whether it works for your documents. Paid plans run on credits, roughly one per standard page, starting at $4.90 a month for 3,000 pages with a 10 MB upload cap and rising to $19.90 for 25,000 pages, 50 MB uploads and ten concurrent jobs. Those are the annual-billed figures. Monthly billing costs meaningfully more and the site does not show it.

Files transfer over an encrypted connection and are deleted after processing according to the privacy policy. The team recommends human review before publishing translated legal or medical material, which is the correct caveat and more than most tools in this category bother to state.
